Hand-POS is primarily a point of sale PDA unit that runs a modified version of Campus Smart-POS (touchscreen point of sale application). By having a completely network independent, portable POS and internally powered PDA device available, schools can have an extremely powerful backup device that can be called on for business continuity in the event of an electrical outage or network failure. Hand held POS can continue to work under these situations when your regular POS can no longer operate.New stock items can be added to the portable POS screen in minutes making it suitable for situations where new items are being added to the menu daily or hourly.Campus hand held point of sale can be used as an offline sales collection unit and the sales can be later synchronised with the server if the network is down. Alternately sales can be uploaded directly to the database server in a live sales environment.Campus Hand-POS reduces long queues in busy periods. It can be used by “floor walking” canteen and restaurant staff to take orders from customers or in an off-campus environment during school sports days or field trips.
